Job Summary:
The Commis III – Pastry is responsible for assisting in the preparation and presentation of high-quality pastries and desserts under the guidance of senior chefs. This entry-level role is perfect for someone passionate about baking and eager to learn in a fast-paced, luxury hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and baking of a variety of pastries, cakes, cookies, and desserts.
- Follow standard recipes and presentation specifications as directed by the Chef de Partie – Pastry.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry workstation.
- Ensure proper storage and rotation of ingredients.
- Support in receiving and storing pastry supplies and ingredients.
- Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Report any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
- Take part in training sessions and development programs as required.
Requirements:
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Pastry preferred.
- Previous experience in a pastry kitchen or bakery is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques and ingredients.
- Passion for pastry and keen willingness to learn and grow.
- Ability to work under pressure and follow instructions.
- Good hygiene and grooming standards.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
