Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Commis II – Pastry to join our culinary team at Silver Sands Beach. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in pastry arts, with a background in international hotel standards. You will assist in preparing high-quality pastry items, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting daily kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and production of a variety of pastries, desserts, and baked goods under supervision.
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the kitchen leadership.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations at all times.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
- Support the Pastry team in mise-en-place and service operations.
- Report any food spoilage, equipment issues, or safety hazards promptly.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance pastry skills and knowledge.
- Fresh graduate or up to 2–3 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, ideally within an international hotel or resort.
- Diploma or certification in Culinary Arts or Pastry is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and baking equipment.
- Passion for pastry and attention to detail in presentation and taste.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and team-working skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the kitchen team.
