Job Purpose
Supervises all fabrication and repair jobs assigned from downstream plant to executed in plant or central workshop. Plan for pending jobs, Requisitioning Materials and other support services., Supervising the Fabricators welders and technician during execution of jobs.
Act as overall coordinator for all fabrication services by workshop and contractors during shutdown and TAM of downstream plants. Prepare job packages for various services providers and participation in vendor selection.
On the job Training and guidance to the fabricators and welders, including periodic testing of welders and preparation of welding procedures as per applicable standard.
Ensure all work meets Company Technical Integrity Standards and auditing for compliance with IMS requirements. Job/project execution / progress reporting in a concise timely manner
Key Accountabilities Supervises fabricators, welders and machinists for the workshop and the field services to ensure execution of job in safe manner and as per desired quality standards in line with operational objectives and a continuous improvement program Ensures that all work is carried out in accordance with approved safety standards and work proceduresEnsures workshop machines and equipment are maintained in proper working order and in safe condition.
Ensure compliance to PM schedule for workshop machines
Participates in job safety analysis, lifting plan and other similar activities for the execution of jobs as per requirement of the job Monitoring various repairing and fabrication jobs involving piping, structural, static and rotating equipment parts on site and off site activities Supervision of welding as per applicable AWS / API codes and standards and preparation of repair welding procedures in case of non-availability with coordination of inspection and reliability departments Ensuring all efforts are made to minimize repair and maintenance cost without compromising safety and quality Coordinate with inspection and field maintenance for the fabrication job requirement Understands the drawings and interprets various codes like ASNT / ASME Guides and supervises fabricators, welders and machinists and periodic testing of welders, so that they are ready to take up jobs at any time Maintains the required stock materials and consumables in coordination with tool room and warehouse Meets regularly with maintenance and production teams to coordinate activities and establish priorities Coaches and develop team members to promote individual growth and promote internal succession in line with Saudization objectivesFollows the workshop maintenance workflow process and quality procedure
Ensures the necessary manpower, work instructions, drawings, materials and tools are available to execute scheduled work
Works closely with planning and plant personnel to ensure priority work is executed and manages the work order “backlog”. Receiving and closing of work orders in Oracle
Proposes new machines, procedures, tools etc. to improve safety, quality and productivity of departmental activities. Carries out other similar or related duties as assigned by management
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications:
Diploma or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Minimum Experience:
Min 7 years’ maintenance experience for Diploma holders and 5 Years for engineering graduates in welding and fabrication jobs in oil refinery / petro chemical / chemicals or fertilizer processing industry including supervisory level experience
