Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals and budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities, process improvements, and innovative sourcing solutions.
- Negotiate high-value contracts, ensuring quality, compliance, and best-value outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, contracts, and supplier performance.
- Manage approved supplier lists and ensure products/services meet required standards.
- Act as the primary liaison between the organization and suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms
- Coordinate with internal teams (Technical, Engineering, Legal, Finance) to meet procurement needs.
- Provide clear, regular updates to management on procurement activities and supplier performance.
- Source and evaluate new suppliers to expand procurement options.
- Stay updated on market trends and procurement best practices.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Introduce innovative risk assessment and mitigation approaches.
Knowledge & Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, Business Administration or equivalent
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
- Certifications linked to the Procurement & Supply Chain industry would be beneficial.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience as a procurement officer or related position
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Ability to work well with management and staff at all levels
- Goal-oriented, organized team player
