Job Description:
POSITION OVERVIEW :
Responsibility for Construction Engineering for SAPL Qiddiya Infrastructure Partner (QIDP). Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all work is in full coordination with Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC). QIC is providing strategic direction on a city-wide basis. Reports directly to the Project Director.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Participating in the planning of Cliff/ Slope Stabilization work activities
- Inspecting and testing materials used in Cliff/ Slope Stabilization operations
- Monitoring and evaluating drilling and blasting processes to ensure compliance with regulations
- Analyzing data and preparing reports on quality control findings
- Collaborating with the operations team to implement improvements in quality control procedures
- Conducting regular audits to identify areas for quality enhancement.
- Writes construction specifications and prepares detailed requisitions for equipment and materials. Interfaces with suppliers as required.
- Coordinates work with engineering and construction units at project site. Reviews, approves, and issues detailed design and construction drawings and specifications prepared by others.
- Provides technical guidance to Contractors & Supervision Consultant
- Provides general inspection on all construction tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
- Reviews equipment alignment and balancing operations.
- Identifies to the Construction Manager the need for additional testing or repeat testing as required.
- Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures.
- Participates in development of job safety practices.
- Prepare the needed reports.
- Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures. Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar) or with minimum 10 years’ experience on construction/geotechnical/ major earthworks projects, specifically experience working on geotechnical/ rock stabilization / tunneling projects and related infrastructure
- Advantageous to have extensive experience of significant PM/CM contracts.
- Project Management Certified is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES :
- Demonstrated teamwork and management skills.
- Promotes safety and safe systems of work
- Proven experience of working within complex construction environment- Geotechnical/Tunnels/ Infrastructure
- Ability to follow through clearly deliver work instructions in a complex stakeholder environment.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization (dual reporting). Ability to interact with senior-level management. Ability to consult, motivate, and negotiate effectively with client groups, co-workers, employees, vendors, and contractors.
- Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and have the ability to prioritize.
- Strong Contractor Management skills.
