We are seeking a highly experienced Civil Engineer with a proven background in the rehabilitation, design, and development of sewerage treatment plants and pumping stations. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing technical aspects of large-scale water and wastewater projects, from planning to execution, ensuring compliance with international and local standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities related to the rehabilitation and upgrading of wastewater treatment plants.
- Manage the design, tendering, and construction supervision of sewage pumping stations, pipelines, and associated civil works.
- Evaluate structural integrity of existing infrastructure and develop rehabilitation strategies.
- Ensure that designs comply with environmental regulations, local codes, and international best practices.
- Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, and process engineers for integrated project execution.
- Review and approve technical drawings, calculations, and material submittals.
- Conduct site inspections and resolve construction-related issues in collaboration with contractors.
- Prepare progress reports, risk assessments, and quality assurance plans.
- Liaise with municipal authorities and project stakeholders to ensure alignment with master development plans.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university (Master’s Degree preferred).
Professional Experience
Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in:
- Design, development, and rehabilitation of wastewater treatment plants.
- Construction supervision of sewer networks and pumping stations.
- Site management and interfacing with EPC contractors.
Technical Skills
- Strong command of hydraulic modeling, structural analysis, and use of relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, STAAD Pro, Bentley SewerGEMS/WaterGEMS).
- Familiarity with UAE regulatory frameworks and international standards (e.g., BS, AWWA, ASTM, EN, ISO).
- Competency in preparing BOQs, technical specifications, and engineering reports.
Certifications (Preferred)
- Registered or licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng).
- Certification in Project Management (PMP/PMI) is an advantage.
- HSE awareness certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA) are desirable.
Soft Skills & Attributes

- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).

- Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
