About the Role:
We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant – VAT & Taxation to join our finance team in Saudi Arabia. This role will focus on ensuring full compliance with all VAT, Zakat, and other tax regulations in KSA, while supporting general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Saudi tax law, excellent analytical skills, and a proven ability to manage tax filings and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare and file accurate and timely VAT, Zakat, and Withholding Tax returns in compliance with ZATCA regulations.
· Monitor changes in local tax laws and ensure company compliance.
· Reconcile tax accounts and prepare reports for management and auditors.
· Coordinate with external auditors and tax consultants during audits or inspections.
· Ensure proper documentation of all tax-related transactions and supporting documents.
· Maintain up-to-date records of tax filings, payments, and correspondence with tax authorities.
· Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., procurement, legal, HR) to validate tax-related matters.
· Assist in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and month-end closing as needed.
· Manage all accounting transactions
· Prepare budget forecasts and publish financial statements on time
· Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
· Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
· Ensure timely bank payments
· Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
· Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
· Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
· Comply with financial policies and regulations
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or SOCPA is a plus).
· Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in VAT/taxation in Saudi Arabia.
· In-depth knowledge of Saudi tax regulations, including ZATCA requirements.
· Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
· Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems).
· Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large datasets.
· Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English.
· Experience in a multinational or large corporate environment.
· Experience is mandatory in the events industry.
· Familiarity with other GCC tax regulations is a plus.
