Job Overview
The R&M Supervisor TRS at Weatherford is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the ISDT workshop. This role ensures that all equipment is maintained to the highest standards, manages a skilled team of technicians, and delivers exceptional service quality to meet client needs. By implementing rigorous safety protocols, quality control measures, and continuous improvement initiatives, the R&M Supervisor plays a critical role in optimizing workshop performance and contributing to the overall success of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the R&M operation; leading, mentoring, and managing a team of technicians and support staff.
- Ensure that all team members adhere to company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Coordinate and prioritize workshop activities to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of tools, equipment, and materials required for R&M operations.
- Ensure that all equipment is maintained, serviced, and inspected regularly to meet operational and safety standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all work meets the company's standards and client expectations.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of workshop activities to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Check equipment in when it comes in from locations, noting serial/asset numbers, unloading equipment from shipping basket/container. Ensure 3rd party rental equipment is identified and promptly returned. Use of data logger for JDE where applicable.
- Ensure all process of Equipment cycle been logged into the MyAdvisor/PFT.
- Stripping and cleaning of all downhole equipment as per manual and following the prescribed SRP.
- Assembling & testing of TRS equipment, recording parameters & updated in MyAdvisor.
- Preparing equipment loadouts, kitting out shipping baskets & workshop containers with equipment for operations.
- Moving of equipment & parts around the workshop facility by means of a forklift truck or overhead crane and transporting equipment via a company vehicle.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for workshop staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Keep abreast of industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and techniques into workshop practices.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of the equipment, and procedures.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for operational management and reporting.
- Basic knowledge of basic Hydraulic principles & Maths.
- Extensive knowledge of down hole operations, tools, and equipment with capacity to understand 100% Technical B.O.M (Bill of Materials) Drawing for a down hole tool.
- Understanding of mechanical engineering principles relevant to drilling & interventions systems.
- Insights into workflow management, inventory control, and quality assurance practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Fluent in English.
Education
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a R&M environment, with proven expertise in workshop operations.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the oil and gas industry, preferably in TRS operations. Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
