Job Description
Vessel Management & Compliance: Ensure all vessels adhere to QSMS, ISM, and ISPS codes, as well as Flag State, Port State, and Saudi Aramco regulations. This includes maintaining certificates, monitoring surveys, and performing regular audits and inspections.
Operational Oversight: Coordinate daily vessel operations with clients, manage crew changes, and handle logistics for cargo, provisions, and spares. The role also involves providing technical solutions to engineering challenges and managing documentation like vessel Time Sheets.
Crew & Personnel Development: Conduct competency assessments and provide training for deck officers, Masters, and Chief Mates, ensuring all crew comply with safety and environmental standards. The Port Captain must also be prepared to act as a temporary replacement for the Master or other key vessel personnel in an emergency.
Inspections & Reporting: Conduct vessel inspections, surveys, and sea trials, and create written reports on these activities, including investigations and identified deficiencies.
Collaboration: Work closely with Port Engineers, Safety Officers, and Technical Managers to maintain critical spares and ensure safe and efficient vessel operations.
Skills
Must have at least 48 months of Sea Experience as Master for Tugs ASD (Azimuth)
The ideal candidate must be a certified Deck Officer with a COC First Class (Foreign going unlimited) and at least four years of sea service as a Master. They need to be fully STCW certified, including ISM & ISPS, DPO Certified, and hold a Marlin Test Certificate and GMDSS Endorsement. The role also requires a degree in Marine Navigation or an equivalent and a willingness to travel.
