Lead Electronic Warfare Ground Training Instructor
Location: Dhahran, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
Travel: Regular travel across the Kingdom (approx. one week in four/five)
About the Role
Draken Europe is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Lead Electronic Warfare (EW) Ground Training Instructor to join our team supporting the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF). Based at the Main Operating Base (MOB) in Dhahran, this pivotal role combines leadership, technical instruction, and operational support in a dynamic and culturally rich environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and development of EW ground training syllabi for RSAF aircrew, including the RSAF EWO Course and annual Air EW Symposium.
- Manage and mentor a team of 4 Electronic Warfare Training Instructors (EWTIs).
- Standardize assistant ground instructors (line EW operators) and ensure consistent training quality.
- Support airborne training development by linking ground academic content to live EW flying profiles.
- Coordinate with RSAF and internal stakeholders to deliver training plans, materials, and certificates.
- Provide SME input to EW playbooks and training profiles.
- Represent Draken capabilities in briefings to RSAF EWFT units.
- Maintain a part-time flying role (subject to aircrew qualifications).
- Promote a safety-first culture and uphold Draken Europe’s values and standards.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Ex-military aircrew at SO2/OF3 level or higher.
- Proven background in delivering technical ground training to aircrew.
- DSAT SQEP instructor or significant training policy experience.
- Strong leadership and planning skills.
- Excellent communication and cultural adaptability.
Desirable:
- COMAO/LFE training experience.
- RAF AWC EWO course and NATO Air Advanced EW Course.
- Intermediate Command and Staff Course qualification.
- Previous experience in KSA or Gulf States.
- EWI/QWI/AWI/QAS qualification (for flying role eligibility).
