Job Description
Summary Introduction:
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Data Architect with deep expertise in Esri technologies to lead the development of spatial data infrastructure for smart city and urban transformation projects. The candidate will architect end-to-end geospatial solutions using Esri’s ArcGIS ecosystem, ensuring data quality, governance, integration, and support for city-wide decision-making and operations.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement GIS architecture using Esri technologies, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Hub.
Develop spatial data models, data repositories, and services tailored to urban use cases and smart city objectives.
Establish governance frameworks for spatial data management, including metadata, data standards, and quality controls within the Esri environment.
Integrate ArcGIS platforms with enterprise systems, IoT platforms, and smart city data hubs.
Support urban analytics, infrastructure planning, mobility optimization, and environmental monitoring using Esri tools and apps.
Implement spatial services through REST APIs, feature services, and geoprocessing services using ArcGIS Server and Python/ArcPy.
Lead Esri-based cloud deployments, including configurations on ArcGIS Enterprise on AWS/Azure and ArcGIS Online integration.
Enable open data access and external API publication through ArcGIS Open Data and Hub solutions.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and domain teams to support digital twins and operational dashboards through Esri-based visualizations.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in GIS, Geoinformatics, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related field.
8+ years in GIS architecture and geospatial data engineering.
At least 3 years designing and implementing solutions using Esri's ArcGIS suite.
Proven experience with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and integration with non-spatial enterprise systems.
Strong command of spatial databases (e.g., enterprise geodatabases, PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle with Esri ST_Geometry).
Proficiency in Python scripting (ArcPy), ModelBuilder, and automation of geospatial workflows.
Experience in publishing, configuring, and maintaining map services and feature services using ArcGIS Server.
Familiarity with Esri's geospatial analytics, 3D GIS, and field mobility solutions (e.g., Survey123, Collector, Field Maps).
Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
Bilingual (English and Arabic) is highly desirable.
Esri Technical Certification (e.g., ArcGIS Desktop, Enterprise Administration, or Enterprise Geodata Management).
Experience with Esri-based digital twins and 3D city modeling.
Understanding of INSPIRE, ISO 19115, and other geospatial metadata and interoperability standards.
