Job Description
Summary Introduction
The Business Architect is the strategic integrator between business vision and enterprise execution. Leveraging globally recognized frameworks—including TOGAF, BPMN, ISO 9000 family, eTOM, APQC, ABPMP, EFQM, Six Sigma, BPTrends, the role designs, governs, and continuously evolves the business architecture so that every capability, process, product, and initiative contributes measurable value to the organization’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development of baseline & target business architectures: Document current‑state capabilities, processes, information models, and value streams; define future‑state models aligned to corporate and digital‑transformation strategies.
- Identify & bridge gaps: Perform structured gap analyses between baseline and target architectures; propose initiatives or solutions (process redesign, capability build‑outs, operating‑model shifts, etc.) to close gaps.
- Promote EA value to business leaders: Champion architecture‑driven thinking, demonstrating how alignment to frameworks like EFQM, ISO 9001/27001, and DGA reference models accelerates outcomes.
- Own business‑layer artifacts: Establish, version‑control, and curate high‑quality artifacts (value‑stream maps, capability maps, information flow diagrams, KPI trees, RACI matrices, policy hierarchies) in the EA repository.
- Set principles & standards: Formulate, publish, and enforce business‑architecture principles, modeling conventions (BPMN 2.0, eTOM), and quality standards that integrate ISO 9000s and Six Sigma philosophy.
- Consult on projects & initiatives: Partner with portfolio, product, and project teams to ensure solutions conform to—or mindfully extend—the enterprise architecture; trigger architectural change when justified.
- Conduct impact & option analyses: Quantify how changes in strategy, regulation, technology, or market conditions affect business capabilities, cost‑to‑serve, risk posture, and customer experience.
- Capture & shape enterprise demand: Translate emerging business needs into architectural requirements; validate feasibility and alignment before investment decisions.
- Contribute to EA roadmap & governance: Co‑create transformation roadmaps, define sequencing, dependencies, and KPIs; support governance gates and change‑management actions throughout implementation.
- Coach & mentor: Advance organizational maturity in architecture, process management, and continuous‑improvement disciplines (ABPMP BPM CBOK, BPTrends, Lean Six Sigma).
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Experience
