Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Estimator to join our team! In this role you will support the estimation process by performing a variety of estimating tasks on a major project.
What You'll Be Doing:
Quantity Takeoffs: Prepares material takeoffs from drawings, plans, and specifications for assigned project components.
- Scope Analysis: Assists in reviewing contractual documents to determine project scope, exclusions, and potential changes.
- Cost Breakdown: Develops basic component-level estimates, including assigning rates and performing necessary calculations.
- Vendor Engagement: Contacts suppliers and subcontractors to obtain price quotations for materials, labor, and services.
- Historical Data Management: Collects and organizes historical cost information to support future estimates and refine database accuracy.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintains estimate logs and supports preparation of bid packages and cost summaries.
- Team Collaboration: Works with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment and consistency in estimating approaches.
- Learning & Development: Receives guidance from senior estimators and actively builds knowledge of company procedures and industry best practices.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- 5 years of relevant experience in estimating or related project controls functions.
- Strong analytical and math skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software and tools is a plus.
