Job Summary:
The Team Leader for the Data Center will oversee and manage daily operations, maintenance, and support of the data center infrastructure. This role ensures optimal performance, availability, and security of all data center equipment and services. The Team Leader will guide, mentor, and coordinate a team of technical staff to deliver high-quality IT services aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of data center technicians and engineers to ensure efficient operation and maintenance of the data center infrastructure.
Manage day-to-day activities including server management, network operations, power and cooling systems, and physical security controls within the data center.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime and disruptions.
Implement and enforce data center policies, procedures, and best practices for operations, security, and compliance.
Coordinate maintenance schedules, upgrades, and deployments to ensure minimal impact on business continuity.
Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and implement new solutions.
Maintain accurate documentation of data center assets, configurations, and procedures.
Provide training and development opportunities to team members to enhance technical skills and performance.
Ensure adherence to health and safety standards within the data center environment.
Prepare and present reports on data center performance, incidents, and improvement plans to senior management.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience (3+ years) in data center operations or IT infrastructure management.
Previous leadership or team management experience is essential.
Strong technical knowledge of data center hardware (servers, storage, networking equipment), virtualization, and cloud technologies.
Familiarity with ITIL processes, data center best practices, and security standards.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Certifications such as Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA Server+, or relevant vendor certifications are a plus.
