Department Overview
The Procurement Department (PCD) plays a critical role in driving sourcing strategy and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include processing purchase requisitions, sourcing materials in alignment with business needs, issuing RFQs, purchase orders, and strategic agreements. PCD also manages supplier registration, development, performance monitoring, and supports localization of materials to enhance local content.
Position Overview
The Strategic Procurement Buyer is a pivotal role within PCD, focused on enhancing procurement efficiency through long-term strategic agreements. This individual acts as the commercial contact point for a portfolio of suppliers, ensuring compliance, building supplier relationships, and driving cost-effective sourcing.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain long-term agreements with manufacturers and suppliers
- Establish and manage B2B agreements using the Ariba procurement system
- Prepare, execute, and monitor strategic agreements aligned with sourcing goals
- Process RFQs/RFPs, conduct bid evaluations, issue release orders and manage master agreements
- Perform supplier cost analysis and support budget optimization
- Track agreement performance using KPIs; provide corrective actions where necessary
- Ensure supplier quality, performance, and compliance with standards
- Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Purchase goods to meet customer requirements in terms of quality, cost, and timing
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or engineering
- Minimum 3 years in purchasing, ideally in the industrial sector
- MCIPS preferred
- MRP/ERP systems (SAP highly desirable)
- Fluent in English (written and oral)
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills
