Your day-to-day:
Guest Experience
- Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
- Sourcing and engaging reliable suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
- Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
People
- Manage day-to-day staffing needs, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to improve team member performance
- Educate and train team members in strategizing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors in order to acquire the most cost-effective deals and to reduce procurement expenses properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties
- Ensure your team are properly trained on systems, security, service and quality standards
Financial
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Approving purchase orders and organizing and confirming delivery of goods and services.
- Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
- Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
- Overseeing and managing the IT systems that track shipments, inventory, and the supply of goods.
- Preparing procurement reports.
Responsible Business
- Check billing instructions and invoices for compliance with hotel credit policy and ensure all transactions are handled in a secure manner
- Train team members on all purchasing systems
- Perform other duties as assigned. May also serve as manager on duty
Accountability
This job is the top Procurement job and report to General Manager at a large luxury or resort hotel. Typically supervises Buyer, vender etc. May oversee a team
What we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Hotel Management/Business Administration/ Purchasing, plus 3 years of procurement experience.
- Must speak fluent English. Arabic preferred.
