We are looking for a Senior Traffic Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our Transport & Infrastructure team for a major project based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all traffic engineering and traffic management aspects during the construction and operational phases of a large-scale transport infrastructure project.
- Lead the review, approval, and supervision of temporary and permanent traffic management plans and detour strategies.
- Ensure traffic management designs are compliant with local standards, project-specific requirements, and international best practices.
- Coordinate with municipal authorities, contractors, and traffic enforcement for successful implementation of traffic diversions and staging.
- Monitor and supervise on-site implementation of traffic control measures, ensuring safety and minimal disruption to road users.
- Identify and mitigate traffic-related risks, and support interface coordination across multiple contractors and project zones.
- Provide strategic guidance on traffic flow optimization, congestion reduction, and public access during construction.
- Lead the development of incident response plans and ensure emergency access routes are maintained at all times.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to capacity building within the project team.
- Prepare and present technical reports, dashboards, and briefings to project stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in traffic engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or SME-level role.
- Proven experience working on large-scale infrastructure or transport projects within Saudi Arabia or the GCC.
- Strong knowledge of KSA regulatory frameworks, including MOT, Riyadh Municipality, and Royal Commission standards.
- Expertise in temporary traffic management (TTM), construction staging, and traffic impact mitigation.
- Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, or similar tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience coordinating with public sector authorities, contractors, and multidisciplinary supervision teams.
