Job Description
The Assistant Manager, Coding Governance is a key member of the Clinical Governance team responsible for the generation, development, and maintenance of business and clinical coding systems. This role supports accurate and standardized coding across Bupa Arabia to ensure effective claims processing, regulatory compliance, digital transformation, total quality management, and consistent business decisions.
Role Responsibilities
Code Systems Development & Ownership
- Define, interpret, and clarify clinical and business code requirements; maintain SOPs and coding manuals.
- Ensure strategic alignment of coding systems across business units.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with internal (Claims, PA, IT, TQM, PR) and external (CCHI, SHC, NHIC, IA, ACE) stakeholders
- Review and support all major updates and implementations.
System Validation & Planning
- Participate in system validation and implementation testing, document business data and process requirements.
Reporting & Risk Oversight
- Provide updates on new code development, evaluate risks, and recommend system improvements
- Ensure transparency and clarity across all levels.
Coding Capacity Building
- Support internal training, workshops, and orientations for Bupa Medical staff on coding practices.
- Oversee orientation for new joiners, workshops, and other learning mechanisms.
Team Collaboration & Mentoring
- Mentor junior team members and support recruitment and development with the manager
- Lead initiatives to regularly review and enhance coding-related cross functional tasks and frameworks.
