Position Name: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Goal:
Design, development, and optimization of mechanical systems, components, and products that meet functional, safety, and quality requirements—while ensuring compliance with industry standards, cost-effectiveness, and project timelines.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand automation project requirements and objectives.
- Review the project requirements, select the concept, and develop innovative designs for specialpurpose machinery based on client specifications and industry standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments to evaluate design concepts and propose optimal solutions.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks) to create detailed engineering drawings, models, and simulations.
- Select appropriate components, materials, and manufacturing processes to achieve desired functionality and reliability.
- Prototype, test, and iterate designs to validate performance and functionality.
- Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing, installation, and commissioning teams.
- Responsible for organizing and planning the Projects.
- Lead the Projects from initial design concepts in Pre-sale , Post sale & Installation Stages.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Proven experience 10-12 years in designing special purpose machinery or custom automation, concept selection as per customer requirement with prior experience in project execution, installation, and commissioning for automation projects in system integrator companies.
- System Integration Skills (End Effector, Robotics Related).
- Actuator and sensor knowledge (electrical, pneumatics, hydraulic).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) and related software like DriveWorks and strong understanding of mechanical design principles (kinematics, structural mechanics).
- Proficiency in engineering applications (SheetMetal, Welding Automation Technologies)
- Familiarity with machining, materials, and fabrication techniques. FEA experience.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, creative thinking, strong communication, detail-oriented, collaborative, independent, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.10 Certifications in CAD Software, Pneumatics, Hydraulics and is required.
Location: Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
