As part of its development of Qiddiya City, Qiddiya Investment Company (“QIC”) will be developing residential communities, retail destinations, office precincts, hospitality & F&B offerings, entertainment venues, staff accommodation, educational, medical, sports & cultural arenas & stadiums (F1, tennis, golf, equestrian, motor sports, aquatics etc.), theme parks and e-gaming concepts in standalone or mixed-use environments.
The Senior Manager Hard Services (Zone) – Mechanical Engineering is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Mechanical systems operation and maintenance within the allocated zone(s), with a focus on operation and maintenance activities associated with HVAC, plumbing, fire life & safety and other related mechanical systems related to the allocated zone(s). This role ensures that mechanical systems across all company facilities are safe, reliable, efficient, and compliant with all relevant QIC regulations and sustainability goals. This role leads a team of Mechanical Engineers and Mechanical specialists and supervisors while managing service contractors and ensuring uninterrupted, safe and compliant operations. This role supports the Senior Director - FM Hard Services in aligning the hard services Mechanical Engineering objectives with QIC corporate framework and QIC strategic asset management plan and FM objectives.
The Senior Manager Hard Services (Zone) – Mechanical Engineering is responsible for leading, managing, and continuously improving the daily operation and maintenance activities pertaining to the mechanical infrastructure and assets in the allocated zone(s) and providing necessary reports and feedback to the Senior Director - FM Hard Services while collaborating with other internal and external professionals to optimize the performance of the mechanical infrastructure and assets operation and maintenance in the allocated zone(s), minimizing associated risks and adhering to QIC corporate framework and QIC strategic asset management plan and FM objectives. This role ensures high service quality and compliance with QIC standards while optimizing costs and vendor performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operation, maintenance, and reliability of mechanical systems across all facilities (HVAC, chillers, boilers, pumps, plumbing, etc.).
- Ensure efficient and effective use of mechanical resources to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
- Lead root cause analysis and implements corrective actions for recurring mechanical failures.
- Assist the Senior Director – FM Hard Services in developing and implementing long-term Mechanical Engineering sustainable operation and maintenance strategies aligned with QIC corporate framework and QIC strategic asset management plan and FM objectives.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration for facility upgrades, expansions, and retrofits.
- Provide technical guidance during project planning and execution phases.
- Supervise a team of mechanical engineers, technicians, and support staff.
- Oversee contractor/vendor performance, including contract negotiation, execution, and compliance.
- Manage training and development of the in-house mechanical team.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with local, national, and international codes and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA).
- Maintain rigorous safety practices for mechanical operations and support EHS programs.
- Assist the Senior Director – FM Hard Services in the preparation and managing annual budgets for mechanical operations and capital projects.
- Monitor and optimize energy consumption and asset lifecycle costs.
- Utilize CMMS tools for tracking maintenance history, asset performance, and resource planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 10-12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on facilities management and hard services.
- 5+ years in a leadership position .
- Chartered Mechanical Engineer Credential or Recognized industry membership.
- International experience including prior experience within MENA.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and energy management systems.
- Experience in managing mechanical engineering projects from conception through implementation.
- Proficient in relevant mechanical design software and tools.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing mechanical system challenges.
- Knowledge of local codes, regulations, and industry standards related to mechanical engineering.
- Experience in the leisure or entertainment sectors is preferred.
