Job Description
Job Profile:
Senior Finance manager will demonstrate a breadth of finance skills from transactional experience in key finance processes and controlling through to the ability to support financial analytics and controllership responsibility within Gilead.
The Gilead Finance team operates within a matrix structure and as a business partner to local commercial team and other functional unit heads as well as the ME Regional Office and the FP&A and controllership in Stockley Park. Experience building effective relationships with local teams, the Regional Office, FP&A and controllership will be leading success criteria
Responsibilities:
Controllership responsibilities (70%)
- Manage all revenue deduction transactions (Commission transaction, price difference transaction and penalties transactions)
- Control all POs process, invoicing, accrual and month end closing process.
- Manage the reporting requirements for statutory and corporate compliance, e.g VAT/WHT, and cash Flow forecast etc.
- Supporting the trade operation team on controlling OTC process for Saudi Arabia which is a key business process in finance and operations that manage the lifecycle of a customer order. It encompasses all the steps from the moment a customer places an order to when the payment is received from the distributor.
- Following up on the AR collection monthly with the Saudi distributor and controlling the credit limit process in Saudi Arabia and book all related transactions.
- Monthly reconciliation for the TB and performing the reconciliation needed
- key contributor during the preparation for R3 (SAP implementation in Saudi Arabia)
- Ownership of the accounting processes to support balance sheet accruals, provisions, allocations, reclassifications, and other accounting transactions
- Local lead to ensure the integrity of the affiliate’s financial control framework, including compliance with local reporting requirements, and as point person with Internal and External auditors.
- Lead month and quarter-end close activities, interacting successfully with Regional
- Controllership and Shared Services to ensure all regional submission requirements and timelines are met
- Overall responsibility for providing timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reporting
- Oversee processes to ensure all Tax submissions are made in a timely and accurate fashion,
- ensuring that any reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis.
- Ensure finance policies (Controller’s Manual), and tax and legal requirements are followed.
- Drive development and implementation of key process improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies and procedures
FP&A responsibilities (30%)
- Playing significant role in support the finance head in LE process for Saudi Arabia (Revenue, pricing, PVM, Personnel cost, internal cost and external OpEX)
- LE Slide preparation for Saudi Arabia
- Overall responsibility for providing timely, accurate, and comprehensive performance management
- Monthly tracker for all OpEX showing YTD and remaining YTG spend
- Drive development and implementation of key process improvement initiatives.
- Ad hoc analyses as needed
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- 10+ years of relevant experience within pharma industry
- CPA or equivalent qualifications are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies and procedures.
- Prior experience in a comparable organization, with responsibility for such processes as financial reporting, tax, AR/Credit, cash flow management, A/P, etc
- Strong knowledge of integrated Enterprise systems, ideally SAP, and proficiency with Microsoft tools
- Experience in a comparable multi-national organization, with biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience is strongly preferred
- Prior experience partnering with the business within an FP&A role
- Demonstrated technical, problem solving, and analytical skills.
- Arabic language is preferred
- work with minimal supervision and interact successfully with non-financial personnel
