Job Description
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and geotechnical design, combined with practical field experience and strong project management capabilities.
- Lead and manage geotechnical engineering deliverables within the PMC framework, overseeing multiple design consultants and contractors.
- Provide expert input on geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for diverse elements such as high-rise buildings, basements, transportation infrastructure, and public realm works.
- Review and approve geotechnical reports, method statements, risk assessments, and technical submittals.
- Coordinate with design, infrastructure, utilities, and construction management teams to resolve geotechnical issues across project phases.
- Evaluate ground conditions and provide recommendations on foundation systems, retaining structures, earthworks, ground improvement, dewatering, and slope stabilization.
- Ensure adherence to international and local codes.
- Participate in value engineering, constructability reviews, and risk workshops.
- Support field teams in supervising site investigations, QA/QC of groundworks, and geotechnical instrumentation monitoring.
- Contribute to technical governance, assurance, and lessons learned across the project lifecycle
Qualifications
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil or Geotechnical Engineering (required); Master’s degree (preferred).
- 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role on major urban development or infrastructure projects.
- Previous PMC, client-representative, or multidisciplinary consultancy experience is highly desirable.
- Proven expertise in complex geotechnical works including deep foundations, shoring systems, soil-structure interaction, and challenging subsurface conditions.
- Familiarity with local geotechnical conditions in Riyadh or similar arid, collapsible soil environments is an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and technical interfaces.
