Job Title: SAP Technical Project Manager
Location: Client Site – Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA)
Employment Type: Permanent – New Era Technology

About the Role:

New Era Technology is seeking an experienced SAP Technical Project Manager to lead and deliver cutting-edge SAP projects for one of our prestigious clients in KSA. This is a pivotal role focused on managing custom SAP developments, user interface modernization (Fiori/UI5), and complex integrations across SAP and non-SAP systems.

The selected candidate will work onsite at the client location, providing hands-on leadership to cross-functional teams and external vendors while ensuring that technical deliverables align with business goals and SAP best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end SAP project implementations, upgrades, and enhancements with a focus on technical workstreams—particularly custom ABAP development, RICEF objects, Fiori/UI5 applications, and system integrations.

• Develop and drive project plans, managing scope, schedules, budgets, resource allocation (internal & external), and risk mitigation strategies.

• Act as a technical authority, overseeing code reviews, guiding Fiori/UI5 design, ensuring architectural compliance, and enforcing development standards.

• Coordinate and manage third-party vendors and service providers—defining SLAs, tracking deliverables, handling escalations, and conducting performance reviews.

• Facilitate key technical tasks: code validation, system configuration, performance tuning, and production deployments.

• Ensure seamless integration of SAP with other enterprise systems, maintaining system integrity, security, and performance.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and suppliers to gather requirements, resolve dependencies, and address challenges effectively.

• Lead testing phases (unit, integration, UAT), oversee documentation, and ensure knowledge transfer and go-live readiness.

• Mentor and guide internal team members to promote a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.

Core Technical Skills:

• Hands-on expertise in:

  • ABAP (RICEF, OOABAP), CDS Views, ODATA, AMDP

  • SAP integration tools and technologies (IDOC, APIs, ODATA)

  • Fiori/UI5 app development and extension, security concepts

• Solid understanding of SAP S/4HANA architecture, enhancement frameworks, and key functional modules (SD, MM, PP, FICO, etc.)

• Experience using project and ALM tools such as SAP Solution Manager, Cloud ALM, Jira, MS Project

• Familiarity with enterprise architecture principles and SAP best practices in technical delivery

Vendor Management Skills:

• Strong experience managing external vendors for SAP development, testing, and integrations

• Ability to define and monitor SLAs, manage escalations, and ensure delivery compliance

• Proficiency in vendor contract management, negotiation, and performance evaluation

Additional Requirements:

• Proven leadership managing cross-functional and cross-vendor teams

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Advanced problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making capabilities

• Ability to multi-task and deliver under tight deadlines

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields

• 10+ years of SAP technical experience with at least 2 full-cycle SAP project implementations as a project/technical lead

• Direct experience in vendor or system integrator management

• Project Management certifications (e.g., PMP, Prince2, Scrum, or SAP Activate) preferred

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience with global or multi-site SAP rollouts

• Exposure to SAP Analytics tools (e.g., SAP BW, Analytics Cloud) is a plus

• A proactive mindset with the ability to challenge designs and drive innovation
