Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage road and highway construction works within large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Review and approve design drawings, technical specifications, and construction plans submitted by consultants or contractors.
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, cost estimates, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and client representatives during project phases.
- Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved designs and specifications.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Participate in progress meetings and provide technical input for issue resolution.
- Ensure that all road construction works meet safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Support the preparation of progress reports, technical documentation, and construction updates.
- Liaise with utility agencies and local authorities regarding permits and clearances.
- Evaluate contractor performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Assist in the preparation and review of tender documents, BOQs, and technical specifications for roadworks packages.
- Review contractor’s method statements, material submittals, and ITPs (Inspection and Test Plans) for road-related activities.
- Supervise asphalt paving works, roadbed preparation, sub-base and base layers, and ensure proper compaction and material quality.
- Monitor traffic management plans and ensure safe construction practices in active traffic zones.
- Manage coordination with structural, drainage, and utility teams to ensure integration with roadwork plans.
- Participate in Value Engineering workshops and propose design optimizations to improve cost-efficiency and constructability.
- Coordinate with survey teams for accurate layout and alignment checks.
- Ensure proper implementation of erosion control, stormwater drainage, and road safety features.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and inspectors on-site.
- Ensure documentation and records are accurately maintained for inspections, approvals, and audits.
- Prepare snag lists and supervise close-out activities related to roads and paving.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in road and infrastructure projects, with at least 3 years in a PMC role.
- Strong knowledge of road construction methods, materials, and design standards.
- Familiar with construction safety, quality assurance/control processes, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Project.
- PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
