The Mechanical Tender Engineer is responsible for preparing competitive mechanical proposals and tender submissions for construction projects. This role involves detailed analysis of client requirements, quantity take-offs, pricing, preparation of technical documentation, and coordination with procurement and engineering teams to develop compliant and cost-effective bids.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and understand tender documents, including project specifications, drawings, and BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
- Perform mechanical quantity take-offs and cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical systems.
- Prepare and submit detailed technical and commercial bid proposals within deadlines.
- Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
- Coordinate with design, procurement, and project teams to finalize tender requirements and pricing strategy.
- Prepare method statements, technical write-ups, and compliance documentation as part of the tender submission.
- Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and clarification sessions with clients and consultants as needed.
- Track tender submissions and follow up on tender results and feedback.
- Maintain and update cost databases, supplier contacts, and historical data for accurate future estimations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- 6–10 years of experience in tendering or estimation within the construction industry (especially MEP or mechanical systems).
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems used in transportation, commercial and industrial construction.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Excel, Candy, or similar).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, local codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with EPC, design-build, or large-scale projects.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical shop and design drawings.
- Understanding of project scheduling and cost control principles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems or tendering platforms.

Pay: Up to ﷼10,000.00 per month
