The Electrical Tender Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and compliant technical and commercial bids for electrical systems in construction projects. The role requires a detailed understanding of project requirements, performing cost estimations, coordinating with suppliers and internal teams, and ensuring timely submission of high-quality tenders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze tender documents including drawings, specifications, and BOQs for electrical systems (LV, MV, Lighting, Power, Fire Alarm, PAVA, Security Systems, Data Network, etc.).
- Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical works.
- Develop technical and commercial proposals in line with client requirements and industry standards.
- Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for electrical materials and services.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather necessary inputs for tenders.
- Prepare and compile necessary technical documents, method statements, and compliance reports for submission.
- Attend pre-tender meetings, site inspections, and bid clarifications with clients and consultants when required.
- Maintain and update pricing databases, supplier lists, and historical cost data to support accurate future estimates.
- Monitor and track submitted bids, and analyze results for continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- 6–10 years of experience in electrical estimation/tendering in construction industry. (especially MEP or electrical systems).
- Proficiency in electrical design and estimation software (AutoCAD, MS Excel, Estimation Tools, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, local codes and standards.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with large-scale building or infrastructure projects (transportation, commercial, industrial, or oil & gas).
- Familiarity with ERP systems or tendering platforms.
- Understanding of value engineering and cost control principles.
- Knowledge of ELV and BMS systems.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: Up to ﷼10,000.00 per month
