Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant with 2-4 years of experience with at least one year of Odoo experience to join our finance team. You will handle day-to-day accounting tasks, support project costing, and ensure accurate financial records for our daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Transactions:
- Process vendor/subcontractor invoices and payments using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ODOO accounting Module).
- Generate customer invoices based on contracts/progress billings and track collections.
- Record cash receipts and petty cash expenses.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Manage vendor/subcontractor accounts, ensuring invoice accuracy and contract compliance.
- Monitor client accounts, follow up on overdue payments, and track retention amounts.
- Bookkeeping & General Ledger:
- Maintain accurate journals and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile accounts (expenses, revenue, assets, liabilities).
- Assist in preparing trial balances.
- Project Costing Support:
- Allocate costs (materials, labor, expenses) to relevant projects.
- Help track actual project costs vs. budgets (collaborating with Project Managers).
- Prepare basic project financial reports for review.
- Payroll Assistance:
- Compile timesheets, attendance, and leave data (site & office staff).
- Prepare preliminary payroll calculations for review (incl. overtime, allowances, deductions).
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Maintain organized physical/digital filing of financial documents.
- Assist with internal/external audit preparations.
- Support monthly/quarterly tax filings (e.g., Zakat, VAT).
- Reporting:
- Generate routine reports (A/R & A/P aging, basic cash flow summaries).
- Assist with month-end financial closing processes.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Experience: 2-4 years in accounting. Experience in project-based industries is a strong plus.
- Technical Skills:
- At least one year of Odoo Experience. Please don't apply if not.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Zoho Books, Sage 50).
- Advanced MS Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
- Familiarity with local tax regulations (Zakat, VAT).
