Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Officer to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment while ensuring compliance with local and international HSE regulations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, preparing detailed reports and implementing preventive measures
- Provide HSE training and education to employees at all levels of the organization
- Manage and maintain environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement HSE strategies and initiatives
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance data, preparing reports for management and regulatory bodies
- Stay up-to-date with changes in HSE regulations and best practices, particularly those specific to Saudi Arabia
- Serve as the primary point of contact for HSE-related matters with internal and external stakeholders
- Lead emergency response planning and coordinate drills to ensure preparedness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in industrial or construction settings
- Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, OSHA)
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations and standards, with a focus on Saudi Arabian requirements
- Proven experience in risk assessment, incident investigation, and safety management systems
- Strong proficiency in HSE software and data analysis tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are highly desirable
- Familiarity with industry-specific safety practices and environmental management systems
- Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential HSE risks
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
- Willingness to travel to various work sites as needed
