Our client is looking for a Financial Controller to join their team in Riyadh, responsible for providing strategic financial oversight and leadership within the Finance Department. This role focuses on overseeing core financial functions including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The position plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial operations, aligning them with the institution’s strategic objectives. Strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and regional financial acumen are essential to maintaining financial discipline and supporting their broader mission of economic development and regional cooperation.
Responsibilities
- Make day-to-day financial decisions to ensure the Finance Department achieves its objectives and fulfills its mandate
- Lead and supervise the accurate and timely preparation, processing, and recording of all financial transactions across business units in line with established accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Oversee and manage relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with reporting and compliance requirements
- Supervise, in coordination with the Treasury Department, all aspects of cash flow management, including bank reconciliations, fund transfers, and monitoring of account balances
- Drive end-to-end process improvements across financial operations to strengthen internal controls, enhance efficiency, and maintainaccurate and reliable financial records
- Ensure the timely preparation and delivery of high-quality financial reports and statements, in accordance with applicable standards and organizational expectations
- Ensure the delivery of periodic operational reportswith accuracy and of high quality
Qualifications
- 7 +years of experience in financial operations or accounting within the banking orfinancial services sector
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and familiarity with core financial systems (e.g., ERP, T24)
- Experience in the energy, investment, or corporate lending sectors is a strong advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred)
- Professional qualification such as CA, ACCA, CPA (completed orin progress); CFA Level II/III is a plus
- Strong competencies in regulatory compliance, internal controls, financial reporting, and operational efficiency
- Familiarity with Sauditax and VAT regulations is highly desirable
