Job Summary:
The Elevator Maintenance and Installation Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of elevators, escalators, and other vertical transportation systems. The technician ensures that all equipment operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install new elevator systems according to technical drawings and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on elevators and escalators to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic malfunctions.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with national and local safety codes.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and provide timely resolutions.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and building managers.
- Ensure the proper use of tools and safety equipment.
Qualifications:
- Technical diploma or certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, or related field.
- Proven experience in elevator installation and maintenance (typically 2+ years).
- Knowledge of elevator mechanics, electrical systems, and safety standards.
- Physical ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Valid technician license (if required by local regulations).
Working Conditions:
