As Director of Platform, you will play a central role in identifying exceptional founders for SSRH to partner with. This strategic, hands-on position directly impacts patient outcomes, as well as the growth and success of SSRH and its founders.
Your responsibilities will span these key areas:
- Attract, Engage with, and Assess High-Quality Founders: Identify top-tier founding talent for SSRH portfolio company concepts.
- Continued Founder Network Development: Establish and grow a robust talent ecosystem for portfolio companies.
- Build the SSRH brand through marketing and communications activities
- Internal SSRH Recruitment: Build and manage the recruitment function for SSRH’s corporate office.
- Manage the founder platform and experience for SSRH founders following backing by the Investment Committee
As a founding member of SSRH, you will also contribute to building the operations and culture of our Saudi innovation platform. You’ll collaborate with U.S.-based counterparts, leverage Redesign’s existing infrastructure, and adapt strategies to the Saudi market.
This role reports to the SSRH General Manager based in Riyadh.
What You’ll Do
Attract, Engage With, and Assess High-Quality Founders
- Design and implement a comprehensive founder strategy to engage with brilliant potential healthcare founders.
- Attract, engage with, and assess top founders by building a robust funnel of top tier founders to enter into due diligence with, via various mechanisms including brand and ecosystem development, active outbound, partnerships and events. Conduct due diligence with the investment team to assess the founder and concept and prepare them for Investment Committee.
- Build and maintain a positive, professional founder journey selling founders on the value of Redesign
Continued Founder Network Development
- Proactively engage with founder talent through networking, relationship-building, and community engagement efforts to identify and nurture talent for SSRH companies.
Build the SSRH brand through marketing and communications activities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive brand strategy to position SSRH as the premier healthcare venture builder for founders in Saudi Arabia, also informing the healthcare tech and venture ecosystem on our company
- Lead content creation and storytelling efforts across digital channels—including website, social media, newsletters, and press—to showcase studio successes, portfolio companies, and founder journeys.
- Build partnerships with local media, influencers, and ecosystem players to amplify visibility and credibility within the Saudi entrepreneurship and innovation landscape.
- Plan and manage high-impact events, founder meetups, and ecosystem activations that bring the SSRH brand to life supporting the pipeline of founders
Internal SSRH Recruitment
- Leverage the existing Redesign playbook and processes to hire any SSRH team members
- Stay informed about local labor laws and regulations in Saudi Arabia to ensure all recruitment practices are compliant, ethical, and aligned with best practices.
Manage the founder platform and experience for SSRH founders following backing by the Investment Committee
- Collaborate with the rest of the SSRH team to onboard new founders to the SSRH platform and set them up for success
What You’ll Need
- 8+ years of relevant work experience ideally within a VC or startup, preferably in an international context, and in the healthcare space.
- Excellent judge of top tier talent
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Fully fluent in Arabic and English.
