Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our culinary team. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs.
- Support food production for various services, including fine dining, banquets, and catering events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Participate in inventory management and control, ensuring all ingredients are stocked and properly stored.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely service.
- Help with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Engage in shift management tasks, ensuring smooth transitions between team members during service hours.
- Uphold high standards of hospitality while interacting with front-of-house staff to ensure guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a culinary role is preferred, particularly in fine dining or restaurant settings.
- Familiarity with food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Experience in banquet service or catering is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise junior staff when required.
- Knowledge of inventory control processes and kitchen management practices.
- Culinary experience that includes cooking techniques, food preparation, and menu planning.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
