Role Purpose
To implement and follow up on all networking program activities with ESD Directorate and lead Cybersecurity awareness to ensure compliance to deliver Air Traffic Control services in a safe and efficient manner within the set KPIs, agreed budgets and adopted policies and procedures.Key Accountability Areas
Key Activities
CNS Infrastructure development
- Authorize the development of the current and future design of the CNS Infrastructure (Networks & Cybersecurity perspective), such that they meet operational, safety and regulatory requirements
- Lead the development of the CNS Infrastructure Evolution Plan and ensure that the CNS/ATM systems needs are captured and addressed
- Lead the translation of operational Infrastructure requirements into technical plans and programs by monitoring activities related to CNS infrastructure design concepts, outlining technical performance specifications, identifying procurement requests and defining installation and testing standards
- Developing CNS/ATM systems infrastructure scope of work including all SANS technical and specific standards.
Lead the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of SANS infrastructure and processes considering leading practices, changes in business environment, cost reduction and productivity improvement
CNS Infrastructure operations
- Coordinate with other ESD Departments to ensure the compatibility of CNS Infrastructure designs with current and future CNS/ATM systems.
- Advise CNS Networks & Cybersecurity Head of any potential impact of on-going projects on ATC service delivery.
- Support maintenance activities of CNS infrastructure as needed to ensure that all systems are operating effectively.
- Monitor on-site activities to ensure being completed as per agreed specifications and quality standards, and taking appropriate action in case of any deviation
- Review and authorize scope of works (SOWs).
Evaluate and approve technical proposals for CNS infrastructure (Networks perspective).
CNS Infrastructure design and quality
- Participate in system (SDR), preliminary (PDR) and critical (CDR) designs review.
- Participate in the analysis systems trouble reports (STRs) and conduct required modification programs and systems change process (SCPs)
- Participate in the testing and commissioning and hand-over of CNS Infrastructure projects and ensure that the delivered system meets all the requirements in terms of specifications and performance
- Participate in the cyber security assessment and detect and advise on the required repair for potential weaknesses before they can be exploited.
- Maintain all of SANS’ CNS Infrastructure to ensure that they satisfy operational requirements and regularly updated and enhanced to meet new requirements.
Policies, Processes and Procedures
- Updating SANS’ CNS Infrastructure general and technical standards and specification.
- Updating ESD manuals and participate in updating SANS manuals.
- Participate in CNS systems audits review internal and external.
Knowledge and Experience
Minimum or no prior years of experience in Systems Engineering is required.Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in communication and computer engineering, Systems Engineering or equivalent is required.
