Position Summary:
Petroraq is hiring an Accountant with expertise in banking operations, bank facilities management, and financial reporting. The role involves handling Letters of Credit (LC), Letters of Guarantee (LG), corporate banking transactions, and maintaining accurate accounting records including trial balance preparation.
The candidate must have hands-on experience with bank negotiations, credit facilities, and supporting the finance team with day-to-day accounting operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Banking & Facilities Management
- Manage bank facilities including arranging LCs, LGs, TRs (Trust Receipts), and Overdrafts
- Prepare documentation and liaise with banks for new facilities, renewals, and amendments
- Track and monitor bank guarantees and LC expiry, renewals, and releases
- Coordinate with clients and suppliers for banking-related transactions
- Handle bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
Accounting Operations
- Record daily financial transactions in accounting system
- Prepare and maintain trial balance, journal entries, and general ledger
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Support in generating financial reports for management review
- Handle accounts payable/receivable and vendor reconciliations
Compliance & Coordination
- Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and Saudi financial laws
- Work with auditors, banks, and external partners for financial documentation
- Maintain proper documentation of all banking transactions and financial records
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience in Saudi Arabia, preferably in the construction or contracting industry
- Expertise in LCs, LGs, and bank facility management
- Strong knowledge of banking procedures, credit management, and trade finance
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Odoo, ERP, QuickBooks, or similar systems)
- Solid understanding of trial balance, ledgers, and financial statements
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills in English and Arabic (preferred)
