The Opportunity
The System Engineer AGL & A-VDGS will oversee and coordinate the maintenance of electrical systems activities under the AGL and A-VDGS Facilities Management contract at Red Sea International Airport whilst also evaluating the repair needs and plan activities proactively.

The responsibilities will include:
- Directs and monitors the airfield maintenance staff in the maintenance and upkeep of facilities included in the contract (mainly airfield areas, including the related buildings, equipment and vehicles).
- Supervises, plans, organizes, directs and evaluates work of employees. Adjusts in assignments, procedures and schedules as necessary.
- Trains other employees.
- Schedules, assigns work, and programs overtime, vacations, and other time off.
- Maintains records and prepares reports related to airfield maintenance and repair activities.
- Inspects airport facilities to determine problem areas and recommends corrective action.
- Determines airport operational status and changes during emergencies, operations and construction and maintenance activities.
- Enforces safety rules and regulations and is responsible for work progressing according to project plans and specifications.
- Co-manages the AGL and A-VDGS maintenance team with direct responsibility for electrical, , electrical / systems related tasking.
- Responsible for the use of a computer-based maintenance management program to set up Preventative, Planned and Unplanned maintenance for the Airport’s electrical/mechanical systems.
- Establishes, maintains, and purchases, in accordance with the purchasing guidelines, an inventory of critical replacement parts for the major items necessary to maintain airport operations, in coordination with the QHSE/Inventory responsible.
- Oversees and reviews instrumentation and electrical work performed by outside contractors and tenants.
- Obtains cost figures and estimates for various accounts in the preparation of the AGL and A-VDGS maintenance budget.
- Makes recommendations for the need of additional capital equipment and the replacement of existing equipment.
- Subject to regular on-call/re-call and is required to participate in meetings with the customer. Operates analogue, digital, and computer driven test equipment to analyse and repair equipment object of the contract.
The talent we want to inspire has...
- Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic engineering
- Thorough knowledge of the operation and repair of Airfield Light Control Systems (ALCS), Insulation Resistance Megohm Systems (IRMS), high voltage regulators and airfield lighting circuits.
- Thorough knowledge of the functions, maintenance, and repairs required to maintain normal and emergency building electrical distribution systems.
- Skilled in the use of standard and specialized tools used in this work.
- Ability to interpret, understand and effectively carry out complex oral and written technical instructions.
- Ability to effectively communicate via radio with the air traffic control tower and comply with related rules and regulations regarding vehicle usage inside airport movement and non-movement areas.
- Ability to prepare detailed reports and submit recommendations for improved maintenance operations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and airport operator.
- Considerable ability to supervise, train, motivate, and inspect the work of subordinates.
- Excellent knowledge of international safety rules and regulations
- Excellent knowledge of Aviation Rules and regulations: ICAO, FAA en STANAG is an extra advantage
- Technical expertise of Airfield Lighting installation & AGL and A-VDGS maintenance concepts and procedure
- Knowledge of the field activities and working method
- Training market intelligence: market requirements, customer needs, competition, future trends
- Know-how of airport processes, cost structures and standards Experience in Customer Service processes and familiar with Claim Management process
IT Skills
- Working knowledge of MS office tools (MS Project, MS office, ... ) Computerized Maintenance Management System knowledge
