About the Job:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Mechanical Engineer (Design) to join our accomplished team. In this senior-level role, you will lead and deliver mechanical design solutions for high-impact infrastructure projects, with a focus on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems across commercial, industrial, and power sectors. Your deep technical expertise and leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the successful design and integration of complex building services systems.
Key Responsibilities/Deliverables:
- Oversee mechanical design processes from concept through detailed design to IFC (Issued for Construction) stage.
- Lead HVAC design efforts, including cooling/heating load calculations, ductwork and piping layouts, and equipment sizing and selection.
- Design plumbing and fire protection systems compliant with international and local codes (e.g., IPC, NFPA).
- Develop and review engineering deliverables: BOQs, technical specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Ensure designs adhere to ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and applicable local authority standards.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, structural, civil) for integrated project delivery.
- Review vendor documents, equipment datasheets, and shop drawings for compliance with project specifications.
- Provide expert technical support during construction, installation, testing, and commissioning phases.
- Mentor and support junior mechanical engineers and designers.
- Remain current with innovations in mechanical systems and sustainable design practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical systems design, particularly HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale and multi-disciplinary engineering projects.
- Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment in infrastructure and building sectors.
- Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, HAP, and related mechanical simulation/design tools.
- Strong understanding of international codes and standards: ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC, ISO, etc.
- Experience coordinating with consultants, clients, and contractors across project life cycles.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Language Proficiency Requirements:
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required.
Knowledge and Functional Competencies:
- Advanced knowledge of HVAC design, chilled water networks, and mechanical system optimization.
- Strong command of BIM modeling and Revit MEP.
- Experience with energy modeling and sustainable design principles.
- Familiarity with cost estimation and value engineering for mechanical systems.
- Skilled in managing complex project schedules and deliverables using MS Project or similar tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
