Role Overview
The Senior Accountant at Matsbond will be responsible for managing key accounting functions including financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities, ensuring the integrity of financial data across projects and departments. This role involves preparing detailed financial analyses, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and liaising with internal teams and external auditors. As a vital contributor to the finance team, the Senior Accountant will uphold Matsbond’s standards for accuracy, transparency, and regulatory compliance, thereby supporting operational efficiency and strategic financial planning in demanding industry sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Manage account reconciliations and ensure discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
Support compliance with tax filings, regulatory reporting, and audit preparations by coordinating with external auditors and tax authorities.
Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide timely financial information and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Maintain and update accounting records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial data integrity.
Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Stay current on accounting standards, regulations, and best practices applicable to the company’s operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (CPA, ACCA) are an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience with a strong focus on financial reporting and compliance.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively across teams.
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
