Key Accountabilities
Patrol designated areas of the mining operation on foot or by vehicle to deter and detect security breaches, suspicious activities, and safety hazards.
Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems to identify and respond to security incidents and emergencies.
Conduct security screenings of personnel, vehicles, and equipment entering and exiting the mining site to prevent unauthorized access and ensure compliance with security protocols.
Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergency calls, and take appropriate action to resolve situations and minimize risks to personnel and property.
Investigate security incidents, accidents, and violations of security policies and procedures, and prepare detailed incident reports for management review.
Enforce security policies and procedures, including access control measures, visitor registration requirements, and identification badge issuance, to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
Provide assistance and support to employees, contractors, and visitors in accessing facilities, locating personnel, and responding to inquiries or concerns.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, emergency responders, and regulatory authorities to coordinate security-related activities, investigations, and emergency response efforts.
Conduct security awareness training and briefings for employees, contractors, and visitors to promote a culture of security awareness and vigilance within the organization.
Maintain security equipment and supplies, including firearms, batons, handcuffs, and first aid kits, in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in security, law enforcement, or related field is preferred.
Possession of a valid security guard license or certification from a recognized regulatory authority, as required by local laws and regulations.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in security or law enforcement roles, with knowledge of security procedures, practices, and techniques.
