Job Summary
The SAP BW Expert is responsible for leading the end-to-end delivery of data warehousing solutions using SAP BW (NetWeaver, BW on HANA, or BW/4HANA). This role includes overseeing data modeling, extraction, transformation, reporting, and performance optimization.
The manager works directly with business stakeholders and analytics teams to translate reporting and analytics requirements into reliable, high-performing data models.
This position involves managing technical teams, ensuring data quality, and driving standardization and reusability across data solutions. Experience with SAP BW/4HANA, integration with SAP S/4HANA, and SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) is expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of SAP BW solutions aligned with business needs
- Manage data extraction and transformation from SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and third-party systems
- Build and optimize InfoProviders, CompositeProviders, and data flows
- Develop BEx queries, integrate with SAC, BO, or Analysis for Office
- Monitor and tune data loads, queries, and data volumes
- Ensure data governance, security, and access control within BW
- Collaborate with reporting teams to align technical outputs with business KPIs
- Support system upgrades, patching, and landscape management
- Document data models, ETL logic, and transport procedures
- Manage change requests, troubleshoot data and performance issues
- Lead and mentor BW developers and analysts
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
- SAP Certified Application Associate – SAP BW or BW/4HANA
- Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred
- Certifications in SAC or BO are a plus
Experience
- 8–12 years of experience with SAP BW (at least 2 years with BW/4HANA)
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Proven record in delivering enterprise data warehouse projects
- Experience in integrating BW with S/4HANA, ECC, and external data sources
- At least 5 years of experience in the Banking Sector
Technical & Functional Skills
- Deep expertise in SAP BW, BW on HANA, and BW/4HANA architectures
- Proficiency in data modeling (InfoObjects, ADSOs, CompositeProviders)
- Strong knowledge of ETL processes and extractor enhancement
- Experience with query design in BEx and AO
- Understanding of SAC and BO integration scenarios
- Familiarity with data archiving, housekeeping, and lifecycle management
- Ability to write technical specs and manage transports

- Consulting environment with multiple concurrent delivery responsibilities
- Travel may be required within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
- Coordination with offshore and international teams
- Regular client interaction for requirements, testing, and go-lives
- Involvement in workshops, UAT cycles, and training sessions
- Ongoing learning and certifications in SAP analytics and data solutions
- Responsibility for data reliability, system performance, and report usability
