Primary Objective:
This role is responsible for the management of major multidiscipline engineering studies and projects. Management of teams of Project Engineers, Discipline Engineers, Designers, Subconsultants and Subcontractors involved in the development of major projects from conceptual design through to detail design, implementation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and supervise the construction team to achieve project objectives in terms of safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
- Develop and implement construction execution plans, ensuring alignment with project scope and milestones.
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth work transitions and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Monitor daily construction activities, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental regulations (HSE standards).
- Review and approve subcontractor work plans, method statements, and schedules.
- Manage manpower, equipment, and material resources effectively to meet project demands.
- Conduct regular site meetings with stakeholders, including subcontractors, engineers, and client representatives.
- Ensure accurate progress reporting, change management, and proper documentation of construction activities.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans to avoid delays or cost overruns.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with all company and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills / Experience:
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Demonstrable commitment to HSE management in a project environment
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, industry standards, and oil & gas safety regulations.
- A high level of customer focus
- Experience with managing projects involving input from a variety of internal and external sources
- Relevant engineering degree with a minimum of relevant years experience in building and infrastructure projects in oil and gas industry
- Sound understanding of applicable local & international engineering standards and codes of practice
- Eligible for SCE Membership
- A proven track record in managing major projects with a minimum of relevant years experience as a Project Manager
