The Hostess is the first point of contact for guests, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. She is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations and seating arrangements, and ensuring a smooth and pleasant dining experience from arrival to departure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them upon departure
- Manage reservations and walk-in guests using the reservation system
- Maintain the seating chart and manage table rotation efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus
- Communicate wait times clearly and courteously to guests
- Answer phone calls related to reservations, inquiries, or special requests
- Coordinate with servers and management to ensure smooth guest flow
- Keep the reception and waiting area clean, organized, and welcoming
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, restaurant services, and promotions
- Handle guest complaints or concerns politely and professionally
- Support the front-of-house team as needed
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a hostess or in a customer-facing role preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Well-groomed, professional appearance
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Fluent in [specify language, e.g., English and Arabic]
- Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the food and beverage or hospitality industry
- Knowledge of reservation systems (e.g., SevenRooms, OpenTable)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
