Job Description – General Accountant
A General Accountant is responsible for managing the day-to-day financial transactions, preparing accurate financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies. The role involves maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and assisting in budgeting and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards.
- Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and trial balances.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of accounts.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax filing processes.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control activities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and support management in decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of accounting experience (preferably in a corporate environment).
- Solid knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced MS Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
