Floor Supervisor
Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the smooth and continuous operation of the assigned floor area.
- Supervise the performance, conduct, and task execution of the floor operations team.
- Plan and manage manpower movement across the floor based on operational needs and priorities.
- Monitor and address improper baggage induction at check-in counters to prevent system disruptions.
- Oversee the proper handling and circulation of grey tubs, ensuring availability and system efficiency.
- Monitor ongoing maintenance activities, coordinating with operations and ensuring adherence to safety procedures.
- Ensure daily task allocation and provide clear instructions and supervision to team members.
- Promote and enforce compliance with company policies, safety standards, and Vanderlande’s core values, acting as a role model.
- Identify and address performance or behavioral issues among staff promptly and professionally.
- Provide training and support to new or less experienced team members to ensure readiness and competence.
- Report all operational cases and incidents, including improper induction cases, promptly and accurately to the Shift Leader or Vanderlande Control Room for timely resolution.
- Report any operational, maintenance, or cleanliness issues to the relevant authorities promptly.
- Perform any additional tasks or duties as assigned by the line manager to support smooth operations and team efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in field operations, preferably within the airport or aviation industry.
- Proven experience in customer-facing roles, with the ability to handle costumer requests and complaints professionally and efficiently.
- Strong supervisory skills with experience in team coordination, manpower planning & allocation, and performance oversight.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of working effectively with colleagues, management, and external partners.
- Fluent in Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
- Good understanding of airport procedures, safety standards, and general aviation protocols is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and respond quickly in time-sensitive or challenging operational environments.
- Ability to maintain a high standard of professionalism, discipline, and reliability in daily responsibilities.
