To lead, manage, and oversee all contractual and commercial aspects of projects and company operations, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, maximizing commercial value, mitigating risks, and protecting the company’s interests throughout the project lifecycle.
Key ResponsibilitiesContracts Management
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, subcontracts, and agreements in line with company policies and project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and company standards in all contractual documentation.
- Manage contract administration, including variations, extensions, claims, and dispute resolution.
- Provide contractual advice and guidance to project teams and senior management.
Commercial Management
- Oversee cost management, budgeting, and forecasting for projects.
- Ensure accurate valuation of work executed and preparation of interim/final payment applications.
- Manage change orders and ensure proper evaluation and pricing.
- Monitor cash flow and financial performance of projects.
- Conduct risk and opportunity assessments to safeguard company interests.
Claims & Disputes
- Prepare, review, and defend claims related to delays, variations, and contractual disputes.
- Negotiate amicable settlements with clients, subcontractors, or suppliers.
- Support legal teams in arbitration or litigation cases, if required.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead and mentor a team of quantity surveyors, contract administrators, and commercial officers.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, clients, subcontractors, and legal advisors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Timely and accurate preparation of contractual documents.
- Successful negotiation of favorable terms and settlements.
- Positive cash flow and improved project profitability.
- Effective risk identification and mitigation.
- Compliance with contractual and legal requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Law, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional certifications such as MRICS, PMP, or FIDIC accreditation are advantageous.
- 10+ years of experience in contracts and commercial management, preferably in construction, power, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC, EPC, PPP, and other international contract standards.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and contract management software.
Work Conditions
