The Role
- Oversee construction risk assessments for reinsured projects, ensuring alignment with underwriting and claims standards.
- Collaborate with brokers, insurers, and clients to evaluate construction practices, timelines, and exposures.
- Provide expert guidance on construction-related risk mitigation strategies to support reinsurance placement.
- Monitor project progress and ensure ongoing compliance with contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Analyze technical documentation (e.g., site reports, engineering assessments) to inform reinsurance decisions.
- Act as a subject matter expert for construction-related claims, supporting resolution and loss control efforts.
Qualifications
The Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in construction project management, risk assessment, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
- Analytical mindset with experience reviewing construction documents, schedules, and budgets.
- Familiarity with insurance or reinsurance concepts is a plus but not required.
- Ability to travel occasionally to project sites or client locations as needed.
