The Associate General Counsel will play a crucial role in overseeing various legal matters for Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) and its subsidiaries, specifically focusing on Qiddiya Park Operations LLC, the entity responsible for the development of the Six Flags Theme Park and Aquarabia Water Park projects. This position is well-suited for a seasoned corporate and commercial lawyer who has extensive experience in infrastructure projects and the leisure or IT sectors, especially regarding customer-facing products and systems.
As a trusted advisor, the Associate General Counsel will engage with QIC’s operational and management teams, providing them with adept legal guidance, negotiating contracts, and ensuring compliance with legal standards. This role requires someone who can confidently convey legal principles and practices to non-legal teams and who is capable of fostering a culture of good business practice across the organization.
In addition to advisory duties, this role will involve close collaboration with the broader QIC legal team while managing external legal counsel and addressing claims and disputes as they arise, ensuring that QIC’s interests are well-protected.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely legal advice and support for various internal departments and subsidiaries.
- Assist in forming the Legal Department’s strategy, framework, and processes to uphold regulatory compliance and protect company assets.
- Lead and manage legal transactions and matters while overseeing the work of external legal counsel as necessary.
- Handle claims and disputes involving QIC or its subsidiaries, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or a relevant field (LL.B or equivalent).
- Master’s Degree in Law (LL.M or Juris Doctorate) is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a legal counsel capacity, with a background in the entertainment, construction, or related sectors.
- Preferred: Admission to practice law in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to practice in a common law jurisdiction.
- Excellent communication skills with proficiency in conveying legal concepts to non-legal professionals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Bilingual in Arabic and English is highly preferred.
