Job Overview
Seeking an Application Engineer to support Weatherford’s Thru Tubing business. The Application Engineer holds overall responsibility for driving sales within Thru Tubing Fishing, Milling & Packer services, working closely with the Thru Tubing Manager. The role involves preparing technically proficient proposals to meet client objectives, conducting client visits to identify potential opportunities, and fostering strong client relationships.
In addition to technical responsibilities, the role supports both commercial and technical proposal development, mentors Thru Tubing Supervisors, and builds in-depth knowledge of the market, our services, customers, and competitors. The Application Engineer serves as a key link between Weatherford and its customers, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient delivery of services that meet both company standards and customer specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals for Thru Tubing projects.
- Collaborate with Technical Sales, Operations, SMEs, and other stakeholders to ensure client objectives are met.
- Conduct client visits to develop opportunities and strengthen relationships.
- Mentor Thru Tubing Supervisors by sharing expertise and best practices in job design.
- Support tendering activities, including sourcing third-party pricing and specialized equipment.
- Actively promote Weatherford services and capabilities to clients.
- Maintain compliance with Weatherford’s HSE, quality, and governance standards.
- Provide advanced technical knowledge for complex projects such as Snubbing and CTQC.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and training materials.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and competitor activities.
- Support product launches, marketing initiatives, and business strategies across geozones.
- Lead and participate in process improvement and product enhancement initiatives.
Skills:
Required
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Thru Tubing Application Engineer.
- 5–7 years of field experience in intervention services.
- Strong technical knowledge of thru-tubing tools deployed via coiled tubing or jointed pipe.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Ability to build strong professional relationships internally and externally.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Working knowledge of hydraulically operated equipment.
Preferred
- Experience with Salesforce and Xait Porter.
- Strong data collection and post-tender analysis skills.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant oilfield experience in Thru Tubing Fishing, Milling & Packer Open and Cased Hole Completions.
