A Steward, in the Hospitality industry, is an essential part of the team responsible for keeping things clean and organized. They are responsible for ensuring cleanliness and sanitization in kitchens, pantries, dining rooms, restrooms and public areas.
Responsibilities
Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the restaurant
Organizing seating arrangements for guests
Ensuring guests' needs and expectations are met
Coordinating with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service
Keeping track of inventory and ordering supplies as needed
Providing direction and support to other staff members
Balancing daily sales and expenses
Handling customer complaints and resolving conflicts in a professional manner
Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
Follow all relevant health department regulations
Requirements and skills
Proven work experience as a Steward
Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work in shifts
High school diploma; food safety training is a plus
