Job Description
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef to join our fine dining restaurant in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. As the second-in-command in our kitchen, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to create exceptional culinary experiences for our discerning guests.
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing Room service & Fine Dining orders & operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation
- Develop and implement innovative menu items, focusing on both local and international cuisines
- Train, mentor, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain excellent culinary standards
- Manage food cost control, inventory, and kitchen budgets
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to enhance guest satisfaction and address any culinary concerns
- Step in for the Executive sous Chef when necessary, demonstrating strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Participate in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation improvements
Qualifications
- Culinary degree or diploma from a reputable culinary school
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fine dining restaurants, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Proven expertise in advanced culinary techniques, menu development, and kitchen management
- Strong knowledge of international cuisines, particularly Middle Eastern and Western
- Excellent food cost control and inventory management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team
- Up-to-date food safety certification
- Proficiency in kitchen management software and Microsoft Office suite
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Creativity and passion for culinary innovation
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
- Ability to work in Saudi Arabia (valid work visa or citizenship)
