Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Planner to join our team!
What You'll Be Doing;
- Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools for all phases of the airfield project.
- Establish and track baseline schedules, incorporating design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Analyze project progress and performance, providing early warnings of potential delays and proposing recovery plans.
- Conduct regular critical path and earned value analysis (EVA) to support informed decision-making.
- Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure integrated project planning.
- Lead planning review meetings and participate in coordination sessions with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders.
- Align the project schedule with milestones, contractual obligations, and airport operational requirements.
- Prepare and submit periodic progress reports, dashboards, look-ahead schedules, and delay analysis.
- Maintain a robust tracking system for key activities, deliverables, and dependencies.
- Present schedule updates to senior management, clients, and authorities in a clear, concise manner.
- Assess schedule impacts of changes, variations, and unforeseen events, and update the schedule accordingly.
- Support claims analysis and time impact assessments (TIA) for delay events and extensions of time (EOT).
- Identify schedule risks and opportunities, supporting the development of mitigation strategies.
- Ensure planning practices align with international standards (e.g., AACEI, PMI) and project controls procedures.
- Integrate project controls with quality, safety, and cost management frameworks.
- Validate contractor schedules and monitor compliance with contractual requirements and project goals.
- Guide junior planners and schedulers in schedule development and reporting practices.
- Promote a culture of proactive planning and collaboration across the project team.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in planning and project controls.
What Required Skills You'll Bring;
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, including on-site roles.
- Demonstrated experience on airport or airfield infrastructure projects, ideally in the Middle East or similarly complex environments.
- Expert proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and schedule analysis tools.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and airport project phases.
- Knowledge of delay analysis methods (e.g., TIA, Windows Analysis) and project claims support.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Professional certification in project planning (e.g., PSP by AACEI, PMP by PMI).
- Familiarity with airfield-specific construction elements such as runways, taxiways, lighting systems, and apron works.
- Experience using BIM, 4D planning, or integrated project management systems.
- Exposure to FAA, ICAO, or GACA standards for airfield and airport infrastructure.
- Experience working with government authorities or in public-sector aviation projects.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
